Raphael built iLift. He no longer takes clients of his own — these days he leads and mentors the coaching team, setting the standard for how an iLift coach shows up: skilled, human, and genuinely in your corner. His belief is simple — training should make the rest of your life better.
Those who trained with him describe him as Patient, Passionate and Understanding.

For Raphael, what happens in the gym only matters if it shows up everywhere else. The real point of training is the life around it — feeling confident, being strong, and knowing you can take care of yourself in whatever situation comes your way.
That’s the lens he built iLift through. He spent years on gym floors watching newcomers feel intimidated and judged exactly when they needed support most — so he created the opposite: a private, one-to-one, judgement-free studio built around people, not egos or mirrors.
His take has never changed: lasting results come from sustainable habits, not quick fixes — and everyone deserves to feel respected while they build them.
Raphael no longer coaches one-to-one — today he leads and mentors the iLift team across our Kuching studios. But the bar he set shapes every session: properly qualified coaches, a welcoming space, and a plan built around you, not the gym.

Trains and sets the standard for the coaches who train you.
Human connection first — the standard he holds every coach to.
Raphael fell for sport science as a teenager — fascinated by how the body works and desperate to be part of the world of sport, even if he was never much of an athlete himself. The love that stuck wasn’t with competing; it was with the gym, and with helping other people get fit.
He’ll be the first to admit he made plenty of dumb mistakes as a young personal trainer. Those mistakes are exactly why he built iLift the way he did — and why he’s so set on helping the next generation of coaches skip them, and raising the standard of personal training while he’s at it.
“Strong, Independent, and Free.”

These days, Raphael’s real work is people — mentoring new coaches and leading the team. His mission is to raise a generation of trainers who lead with human connection and compassion, and to set a standard for what personal training should feel like. The coach you train with is a product of that standard.

Raphael built iLift so no one has to train somewhere intimidating again. Book a free consultation and one of his coaches will take it from there.
