Born with a condition that makes building muscle incredibly hard, she had long needed help with everyday tasks. A year of training later, she can walk the whole length of the mall on her own two feet.
Pey Yee has lived with a challenge most people never have to think about. A condition she was born with makes it very difficult for her body to build muscle — so for as long as she can remember, she has been on the weaker side, and has needed a hand with many of the everyday tasks others take for granted.
On top of that, she has foot drop — difficulty lifting the front of her foot, which makes the toes catch and drag and turns something as simple as walking into a real effort.

About a year ago, Pey Yee started training at iLift Gala City with Coach Stanley — and she is still going strong. In the beginning, even standing up from a chair or attempting a squat was genuinely hard, so Coach Stan adapted every exercise to meet her exactly where she was, building from the smallest, safest movements.
Bit by bit, that patient approach has paid off. The gains might not look dramatic from the outside, but for Pey Yee they are life-changing — she can now walk around the mall for a long stretch, something that simply was not possible before.
Her story is a reminder that strength is relative, and every win counts. Pey Yee's progress is not measured in heavy barbells — it is measured in independence, in steadier steps, and in doing a little more each week than she could the week before.
