Her mother is in her 90s and still joining runs — that is the goal. For Dona, who leads two Sarawak causes close to her heart, training is about staying strong enough to keep showing up.
Dona has spent much of her life giving back. She is president of the SSPCA — the Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals — and a driving force behind the Culinary Heritage and Arts Society Sarawak, which she helped found. Her love for animals began when she was young and, over the years, grew into a genuine mission.
What keeps her motivated is a very personal benchmark: her own mother. Now in her 90s, she still joins runs and stays wonderfully active — and that is exactly how Dona hopes to age. Training is her way of investing in that future.

For Dona, iLift is less a dramatic transformation than an experience — a steady, enjoyable part of looking after herself. Since she began training with Coach Ben at iLift Pines Square, she has noticed she feels more stable and sure in her movements.
The signs show up in lovely little ways, too. A friend she had not seen in some time recently told her, simply, that she looked fit — the kind of comment that quietly confirms the work is paying off.
Juggling the responsibilities of two non-profits is never easy, and time is her scarcest resource. But Dona has made peace with that: when she has the time, she makes the most of it. Staying strong, after all, is what lets her keep doing the work she cares about — for the animals, for Sarawak's heritage, and for the years ahead.
