Childhood epilepsy left his left side weak for decades, and a gym injury nearly set him back. Today he lifts heavier than ever — and can finally raise that arm overhead.
Charles runs his family business, and like a lot of busy people in their 40s, getting properly fit had always been somewhere on his list. One day he decided to act on it — he signed up at a gym and started training on his own.
He enjoyed it, but working out without guidance came at a cost. Without the right technique he began picking up niggling injuries — the kind that make you wonder whether you're doing more harm than good. That's when he decided to train properly, with Coach Jeremy at iLift Pines Square.

The difference showed up quickly. With proper coaching his mobility and strength climbed steadily, and the injuries that had been holding him back settled down. Today Charles lifts noticeably heavier than when he started — and moves far better while he does it.
He also carried a challenge most people never saw. As a child, Charles had partial epilepsy, which left the left side of his body weaker and harder to control than his right. For years it shaped the way he moved — a slightly uneven gait when he walked, and a left arm he could never quite raise all the way overhead.
Through consistent, patient training, both have changed. His gait is steadier, and he has regained movement in that left arm he'd long stopped expecting much from. For Charles, training hasn't only made him stronger — it's given him back a sense of control over his own body.
